Booking Terms & Conditions

Effective: August 2026

We want every Kids Safari Animal Rides experience to be fun, safe and easy for our customers and little explorers. These Terms & Conditions explain what we need from you and what you can expect from us when making a booking.

By confirming a booking and paying the required deposit, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Bookings & Deposit

  • A $100 booking deposit is generally required to secure a booking unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed with Kids Safari Animal Rides.
  • Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received and you have received confirmation from Kids Safari Animal Rides.
  • The deposit forms part of your total booking price.
  • Dates and times cannot be held without payment of the deposit.

2. Final Payment

  • The remaining balance must be paid on or before the day of your event and before the Safari experience begins.
  • Payment details will be provided with your booking confirmation.
  • Any additional services or extras requested on the day are subject to availability and must be paid for at the time they are added.

3. Suitable Riding Area

Our motorised Safari Animals require a flat, firm, smooth and reasonably level surface to operate safely.

Suitable surfaces may include:

  • Concrete
  • Smooth paving
  • Indoor hard flooring
  • Other firm, smooth surfaces approved by Kids Safari Animal Rides

Grass, gravel, sand, loose stones, mud, steep slopes, significantly uneven surfaces and waterlogged areas are generally unsuitable for the motorised animals.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that an appropriate riding area is available at the event location.

For our standard 3-animal Birthday Safari, we recommend a clear operating area of approximately 5m × 5m or greater, wherever possible.

Larger packages, additional animals or high-volume events may require a larger riding area.

Please tell us before booking if you are unsure about your available space or surface. We may request photographs or measurements to help determine suitability.

Kids Safari Animal Rides reserves the right to reduce, relocate or stop an activity where the available area or surface presents a safety risk.

4. Access, Parking & Set-Up

The customer must provide reasonable and safe access for our vehicle, team and equipment.

Please tell us before your event about:

  • Stairs or steps
  • Lifts
  • Long distances between parking and the activity area
  • Restricted vehicle access
  • Difficult loading areas
  • Paid parking
  • Access permits or venue restrictions

Where possible, our vehicle must be able to park reasonably close to the setup area.

Additional charges may apply where unusual access requirements result in significant additional labour, parking costs or setup time.

The customer is responsible for obtaining any permission required from a venue, council, property owner or event organiser for Kids Safari Animal Rides to operate at the nominated location.

5. Travel

  • Standard packages include travel within the area specified on the relevant package or booking page.
  • Additional travel fees may apply depending on your event location.
  • Any applicable travel charge will be identified during the booking or quotation process wherever possible.
  • Bookings requiring significant travel may also require customised arrival, minimum booking or travel arrangements.

6. Weather & Outdoor Events

Melbourne weather can be unpredictable!

Where an outdoor booking is affected by rain, storms, extreme heat or other conditions that may make operation unsafe or risk damage to our equipment, Kids Safari Animal Rides may modify, pause, relocate or cancel the activity.

Where possible, we recommend having a suitable indoor or undercover backup area.

Safety decisions regarding the operation of our equipment remain with the Kids Safari Animal Rides team.

If Kids Safari Animal Rides determines that the experience cannot safely proceed due to weather, we will work with you to reschedule your booking or provide a booking credit.

A change of mind because of forecast weather is treated as a customer cancellation unless otherwise agreed with us.

7. Customer Cancellations

We understand that sometimes plans change.

All cancellations must be provided to Kids Safari Animal Rides in writing.

14 days or more before your event

Your $100 booking deposit is retained. Any additional amount already paid will be refunded.

7–13 days before your event

50% of the total booking value is payable/retained.

Less than 7 days before your event

The full booking amount is payable and non-refundable.

These conditions help cover staffing, scheduling, preparation and bookings we may have declined after reserving your date.

8. Rescheduling

We would much rather help you move your Safari than miss it altogether!

  • Bookings may be rescheduled once without a change fee when at least 14 days' notice is provided, subject to availability.
  • Your booking deposit and payments will transfer to the new date.
  • Requests made within 14 days of your event will be considered individually and may incur a rescheduling fee or be subject to our cancellation conditions.
  • A rescheduled booking must generally take place within 12 months of the original event date.
  • Any difference in package pricing, travel costs or services applying to the new booking will be payable.

9. Children & Supervision

  • Kids Safari Animal Rides team members supervise the operation of our Safari Animals and provide instructions relating to their safe use.
  • Parents, guardians, carers and/or the event organiser remain responsible for the overall supervision and behaviour of children attending the event.
  • Children must follow instructions provided by our team.
  • We may temporarily or permanently stop a child from using an activity where behaviour is unsafe, including deliberately crashing into other riders, people, property or equipment; failing to follow instructions; or using equipment inappropriately.
  • Our team may also pause or stop an activity if crowd behaviour or conditions become unsafe.

10. Age, Size & Equipment Restrictions

  • Our Safari Animals and other activities have operating limitations which may vary between individual pieces of equipment.
  • Riders must comply with any age, height, weight or other restrictions advised by Kids Safari Animal Rides.
  • Our team has final discretion regarding whether a person can safely use an item.
  • Children must remain seated correctly while riding and must not deliberately collide with other riders, people or objects.

11. Additional Activities & Add-Ons

  • Optional activities such as the Giant Ball Pit, Safari Colouring Station, face painting, themed props and other additions may have their own space, supervision, age or operating requirements.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring sufficient additional space is available for any selected add-ons.
  • Some add-ons may be delivered by third-party providers and may be subject to their specific safety or operating requirements.

12. Damage to Equipment

Please treat our Safari friends kindly!

  • Customers are responsible for deliberate, reckless or negligent damage caused to Kids Safari Animal Rides equipment by the customer or their guests.
  • Reasonable wear and tear associated with normal use is, of course, expected.
  • Additional cleaning, repair or replacement costs may be charged where equipment is deliberately damaged, excessively soiled or misused.

13. Respectful Behaviour

We want our events to be enjoyable for children, families and our team.

  • Kids Safari Animal Rides has zero tolerance for abusive, threatening, aggressive, discriminatory or intimidating behaviour toward our staff or contractors.
  • Our team members are entitled to a safe and respectful workplace.
  • Where serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour occurs, we reserve the right to stop the experience and leave the event. Where an event is terminated because of customer or guest behaviour, no refund will be provided.

14. Delays & Event Timing

  • Please ensure the riding area is available and accessible at the agreed arrival/setup time.
  • Where Kids Safari Animal Rides experiences an unavoidable delay, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you and minimise the impact on your experience.
  • Where our team cannot begin on time because the customer, venue or riding area is not ready or accessible, the scheduled finishing time may still apply.
  • Additional time may be purchased where available.

15. Events, Festivals, Childcare & Schools

  • Large events, festivals, childcare centres, schools and other organisations may have additional requirements depending on attendance numbers, operating duration, location and event conditions.
  • The organiser must advise us of any venue induction, contractor registration, Working With Children requirements, permits, insurance documentation or other site requirements before the event date.
  • Additional staffing may be required for high-volume events.

16. Photography & Marketing

  • Our team may occasionally take photographs or video of the Safari setup and equipment for promotional purposes.
  • We will not intentionally use identifiable images of children for marketing without appropriate permission.
  • If you prefer that no photographs be taken at your event, please let our team know.

17. The Kids Safari Space – Mordialloc

From time to time, Kids Safari Animal Rides experiences may be offered from our operational space in Mordialloc.

This space is the operational home of Kids Safari Animal Rides and associated activities.

It is not a children's play centre, play café or formal event venue.

  • Access is available only as part of a pre-arranged Kids Safari experience or activity.
  • Parents, guardians and carers remain responsible for supervising children at all times.
  • Children must remain within designated activity areas and follow instructions from Kids Safari team members.
  • The surrounding Business Park remains operational and may have vehicle movements and other businesses operating during your visit. Children must be closely supervised when entering or leaving the premises and while in shared parking areas.
  • Customers must park only in permitted areas and must not obstruct neighbouring businesses, accessways, roller doors or designated parking spaces.
  • Where food, decorations or personal items are brought into the space, customers are responsible for removing these at the end of their booking and leaving the area reasonably clean and tidy.
  • Any specific access, setup, parking or facility information will be provided before your visit.

18. Equipment Availability & Unexpected Circumstances

  • While we make every reasonable effort to provide the animals and activities selected for your booking, occasionally equipment may become unavailable because of mechanical failure, damage or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
  • Where possible, we will provide a comparable substitute, alternative activity, appropriate credit or other reasonable solution.
  • Specific individual Safari Animals cannot be absolutely guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.

19. Safety Comes First

  • Kids Safari Animal Rides reserves the right to modify, pause or stop any activity where our team reasonably believes continuing would create an unacceptable safety risk to a child, guest, staff member or our equipment.
  • Our team's decision regarding the safe operation of Kids Safari Animal Rides equipment is final.

20. Acceptance of Terms

  • By making a booking, paying a deposit or accepting a quotation, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
  • The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that relevant information and safety requirements are communicated to the event organiser, venue and guests where appropriate.

Giant Ball Pit – Additional Booking Conditions

Where the 3m × 3m Giant Ball Pit is included in your booking, the following additional conditions apply.

Space & Location

  • The Giant Ball Pit requires a minimum clear space of 4m × 4m to allow for the 3m × 3m Ball Pit plus safe access around the equipment.
  • The Ball Pit must be positioned on a flat, stable and suitable surface, in a location approved by the Kids Safari Animal Rides team.
  • The area must be clear of vehicle movements, stairs, sharp objects, water, fire hazards and other foreseeable hazards.
  • For outdoor events, the customer/event organiser must ensure the Ball Pit can be located in a suitable and reasonably protected area.

Supervision

  • The Giant Ball Pit must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times while children are using it.
  • Unless specifically included in your package, Kids Safari Animal Rides staff supervising the motorised Safari Animals are not considered the dedicated Ball Pit supervisor.
  • For festivals, community events and other high-attendance events, Kids Safari Animal Rides may require a dedicated team member or event-provided supervisor for the Ball Pit.
  • Additional staffing charges may apply.

Safe Play

To help keep everyone safe:

  • Shoes must be removed before entering.
  • No food, drinks, lollipops, chewing gum or sharp objects are permitted inside the Ball Pit.
  • Children must not climb, sit or stand on the Ball Pit walls.
  • No rough play, wrestling, pushing or deliberately jumping onto other children.
  • Balls must remain inside the Ball Pit.
  • Balls must not be deliberately thrown at other children, guests or staff.
  • Children must follow instructions provided by supervising adults and Kids Safari Animal Rides team members.
  • Kids Safari Animal Rides may limit the number, size or age range of children using the Ball Pit at one time to maintain safe play.
  • Where children of significantly different ages or sizes are attending, separate play times may be required.

Events & Festivals

The Giant Ball Pit may not be suitable as an unrestricted or unsupervised free-play attraction at large public events.

For festivals, markets, community events and other high-attendance bookings, Kids Safari Animal Rides may implement:

  • Maximum numbers inside the Ball Pit at one time
  • Age or size restrictions
  • Timed sessions
  • Queuing arrangements
  • Entry and exit points
  • Additional supervision
  • Temporary closure for cleaning, resetting or safety reasons

The event organiser must assist with crowd management where reasonably required.

Balls & Surrounding Area

We know a few Safari balls are likely to escape!

However, children and guests must not deliberately remove, scatter or throw balls outside the Ball Pit.

The customer/event organiser must provide a reasonably contained location that prevents loose balls from creating hazards in roads, car parks, pedestrian thoroughfares, neighbouring properties, water or other activity areas.

Where excessive balls are deliberately removed or scattered, Kids Safari Animal Rides may temporarily close the Ball Pit until the area can be safely reset.

Charges may apply for significant loss or deliberate damage to balls or Ball Pit equipment.

Outdoor Use & Weather

Outdoor use is subject to suitable weather conditions.

The Ball Pit may be closed, relocated or removed where there is:

  • Rain or a waterlogged surface
  • Strong wind
  • Extreme heat
  • Storm activity
  • Unsafe ground conditions
  • Any other condition that may affect safe operation or damage the equipment

Wet balls and equipment can become slippery and may also require extensive cleaning and drying. The Kids Safari Animal Rides team therefore has final discretion regarding whether the Ball Pit can safely remain operational.

Where possible, an indoor or undercover backup location is strongly recommended.

Hygiene & Illness

  • Children who are visibly unwell, vomiting or experiencing symptoms that may reasonably create a hygiene risk should not use the Ball Pit.
  • Nappies must be securely fitted and clothing appropriate for active play must be worn.
  • If the Ball Pit becomes contaminated by bodily fluids, food, drink or another substance that creates a hygiene risk, it will be closed immediately until Kids Safari Animal Rides determines that it can be appropriately cleaned and safely returned to use.
  • Depending on the circumstances, it may not be possible to reopen the Ball Pit during the event.
  • Additional cleaning charges may apply where contamination results from misuse or failure to follow these conditions.

Final Safety Decision

  • Kids Safari Animal Rides reserves the right to limit, pause, relocate or close the Giant Ball Pit where our team reasonably considers the equipment, behaviour, supervision, weather, location or number of participants to be unsafe.
  • Safety decisions made by Kids Safari Animal Rides team members are final.
