How much does it cost to hire motorised safari animal rides in Melbourne?
Pricing depends on the package, number of animals, and event length. Birthday party packages start from $395, childcare and school incursions from $495, and festival/event packages are quoted based on duration and expected rider numbers. What ages can ride the motorised safari animals?
Our safari animals suit toddlers through to primary school-aged children. Each ride has a weight capacity of up to 60kg, which means parents and carers can also ride alongside younger children for extra confidence and fun.
How much space do you need at my event?
You'll need a flat, hard surface (concrete, pavers, or firm decking) with clear space for the animals to move safely. As a guide, allow roughly 3 metres by 3 metres if in a room. Let us know your venue when booking and we'll confirm it's suitable.
Are the rides safe and supervised?
Yes. Every ride is staffed by our trained team for the full duration of your booking. Animals travel at a gentle walking pace, are padded and soft, and our staff actively monitor riders throughout.
Is Kids Safari Animal Rides insured?
Yes, we hold public liability insurance for all events, and our staff hold current Working with Children Checks (WWCC).
Do you come to us, or do we come to you?
Both. We travel to homes, childcare centres, schools, and event venues across Melbourne, or you can host your celebration at our Jungle-themed party room in Mordialloc, which includes six safari animals and themed décor.
What suburbs and areas do you service?
We service homes, schools, and venues across greater Melbourne, including Bayside, Eastern Suburbs, Mornington Peninsula and Inner Melbourne. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, get in touch and we'll confirm.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 4 weeks ahead, especially for weekend birthday parties and the school holiday period, as availability is limited. Festival and school bookings should be made as early as possible to secure your date.
What happens if it rains?
Melbourne weather can be unpredictable!
Where an outdoor booking is affected by rain, storms, extreme heat or other conditions that may make operation unsafe or risk damage to our equipment, Kids Safari Animal Rides may modify, pause, relocate or cancel the activity.
Where possible, we recommend having a suitable indoor or undercover backup area.
Safety decisions regarding the operation of our equipment remain with the Kids Safari Animal Rides team.
If Kids Safari Animal Rides determines that the experience cannot safely proceed due to weather, we will work with you to reschedule your booking or provide a booking credit.
A change of mind because of forecast weather is treated as a customer cancellation unless otherwise agreed with us.
What's included in a birthday party package?
3 x motorised safari animals, a Kids Safari rides supervisor, 90 minutes of usage, delivery, set-up & pack-down, and unlimited photo opportunities during the 90 minutes. Heaps of add-ons available — visit our Birthday Party pricing page to know more.
Can adults ride the safari animals too?
Yes — with a weight capacity of up to 60kg, parents and carers are welcome to ride alongside children.
Do you cater for large events like school fetes and festivals?
Yes. We offer high-capacity rotation packages designed for large crowds, with experienced event staff and flexible timing to suit your schedule. See our Events & Festivals page for details.
How is this different from a jumping castle or petting zoo?
Motorised safari rides offer an interactive, staffed experience that's engaging for a wide age range at once, without the setup footprint of a jumping castle or the animal-welfare considerations of a live petting zoo. Many clients combine rides with other entertainment for a fuller party experience.
